Roots and Raw is currently based in Strandfontein at the YMCA Rotary Camp. Strandfontein is a seaside village 8 km east of Muizenberg, on the northern shore of False Bay in the City of Cape Town municipality in the Western Cape province of South Africa. During the Apartheid, only white surfers were allowed to use Muizenberg beach, the colored surfers were chased off the beach. They then had to walk nine miles from there  where they could enjoy surfing and this is why its called the 9 Miles beach. The 9 miles surfing club project is now based at Strandfontein Pavilion. The YMCA is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose and each other. Working locally, they focus on empowering young people, improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across communities. Roots and Raw does consultations, group and one on one consultations while based there. Also a  collection point for clients to collect their Detox solution products.  Monthly Plant based Living workshops are run from there and most recent project is upgrading the existing community garden, to a food security initiative to create jobs, transfer skills and create green entrepreneurs. Sustainable living for the local community and surrounds.
